Pebeo Gedeo Alginate Powder for Casting, 500 g
Pebeo Gedeo 500 g Alginate Casting Powder
Pebeo Alginate Casting Powder is made from seaweed, so it is completely non-toxic and suitable for contact with skin. Ideal for casting soft, delicate objects, it captures even the smallest details. Alginate is great for casting body parts, such as hands or feet. Just mix the powder with water at a ratio of 1:2 and you can start creating. The mixture sets in about 10 minutes. Once set, the alginate forms a mold into which you can pour plaster or wax to create a perfect cast. You can use the mold up to three times.
How to use
Alginate powder needs to be mixed with water in a larger container at a ratio of 1:2. The mixture forms a thick gel into which you dip the object you want to cast. Wait 10 minutes for the mixture to harden. Once you remove the object from the alginate, you will have a rubber-like alginate mold. You can then use it for casting with plaster or wax. The finished cast is very realistic and captures every detail.

Clear and bubble-free. Ideal for molds and casts. It doesn’t yellow, just as promised.
A safer alternative to regular resins. It’s glossy and easy to work with on flat surfaces.
The powder mixes up fairly quickly, so you have to work fast, but it makes incredibly detailed casts.
I used this alginate to make handprints of my children, and it worked on the first try. The result is really detailed.
I mixed it with water according to the instructions, and everything set as it should.
