Fine-Line Crackle Varnish, 2-Step
Crackle varnish is used to imitate fine cracks on old porcelain. Pack contains: 50 ml Phase 1 + 50 ml Phase 2.
Application:
- Apply the first phase to the surface of an already decorated item,
- once it has dried, apply the second phase and spread it thoroughly over the surface with your fingers,
- the varnish layer of Phase 2 will crack as it dries,
- you can highlight the cracks by rubbing a non-water-based coloring material into the surface (liquid patina or antiquing paste),
- the pattern of the resulting cracks depends on the thickness of each applied phase and the drying time,
- Phase 2 is not water-resistant once dry, so the next day it must be coated with a varnish that can be thinned with thinner.
