I always give Schmincke soft pastels top marks because they’re excellent. I’ve used them for years in my professional portrait work, and I keep coming back to them for their quality and brilliant colors. You can’t go wrong with Schmincke. They don’t crumble in your hands, even though they’re very fine and soft. They blend beautifully, and the color selection is great. Highly recommend.
Schmincke quickly became one of my favorite soft pastel brands. The coverage, vibrancy, texture, and consistency are amazing. They do break very easily, but they’re a joy to work with, great for layering, and blend beautifully.
This set of thirty is a dream come true for me as a professional. The shades are simply perfect.
I bought these for my husband’s birthday, and he says he’s never held more beautiful, softer pastels.
The huge range of colors lets me paint landscapes without having to keep mixing colors.
They’re quite fragile, but the pigment quality more than makes up for it.
Painting with these pastels is pure joy. The colors practically glow on paper.
