Kerotix Umton
Kerotix Umton is a wax-based paste varnish for oil painting and tempera paint. It preserves the painting and protects it with a soft matte layer. Apply it with a pad or rub it onto the painting with your palm. Then expose the painting to sunlight or gentle heat for some time so the Kerotix can penetrate the pores of the paint. Its preservative effect protects the painting especially well from harmful vapors and gases. It can also be used as so-called painting butter without darkening, and is an indispensable aid for art restorers. They use it when lining a painting with new canvas, as thorough protection for the reverse, and for other purposes.
